Toiletries are one of the biggest expenses at SAFE. Shampoo, conditioner, soap, and other essentials are used daily and in large quantities across the Austin Children’s Shelter and SafePlace campuses. .
We need your help to make sure these items are available to the people we serve. The SAFE Toiletry Drive runs Feb. 13 through March 13!
Many who access SAFE’s services arrive at our emergency facilities with nothing but the clothing on their backs. They can’t afford to purchase these goods on their own and often times have been living without the basic-needs items we so often take for granted.
We need your help
Making sure that all the adults and children we serve have access to toiletries is vital to our daily operations. And keeping up is costly – we go through over 150 deodorant sticks, 300 toothbrushes, and 400 bottles of shampoo in a one-month period. Your support with this drive will free up valuable dollars that will go back into programming and services for survivors of abuse.
Consider purchasing toiletries in bulk for SAFE, or packaging them together into welcome kits for survivors and children to use when they first arrive.
Some of the items we need the most
- Baby wipes
- Feminine hygiene products
- African-American hair care products
- Combs and brushes
- Shaving cream
- Face wash
