SAFE Baby Drive is on now!

Baby eating food, making a bit of a mess.

Being a new parent is stressful, no matter the circumstances. But, it can be especially hard for abuse survivors and young mothers worried about safety, shelter, and meeting other basic needs.

To make sure the families we serve receive the best care possible, we’re collecting donations during the SAFE Baby Drive now through April 20.

We need baby items

Many mothers with young children come to SAFE seeking safety at the SafePlace Campus Emergency Shelter and the Austin Children’s Shelter Campus.

At our facilities, teen mothers work with staff on how to properly care for and build loving relationships with their babies. Our Strong Start team works with parents of children 5 years old and younger who are experiencing multiple stressors in their lives. We are able to provide therapeutic support as well as some basic necessities.

By donating just a few items to our baby drive, you are helping relieve worries for these parents and allowing them to spend more time bonding with their babies. Below, you can find items needed for each campus as well as delivery instructions.

  • Diapers, especially in sizes 4, 5, and 6
  • Pull ups, especially in sizes 4, 5, and 6
  • Baby wipes
  • Baby powder
  • Baby shampoo and soap
  • Soft blankets
  • Bibs
  • Learning toys
  • Baby clothing
  • Toddler clothing
  • Formula (Similac Advance is the preferred formula of our teen mothers)
  • Bottles – must be new per our licensing requirements
  • Snacks for toddlers and moms

For hygienic purposes, please only deliver new items for our babies.

Donations can be delivered to either our SAFE campuses.
