ACS Donors and Partners

Approximately 65% of the Austin Children’s Shelter budget must be raised through corporate giving, grants, fundraisers and individual giving. A good steward of your support, 83% goes directly to programs and services for children and youth.

Our corporate, organizational, foundation and governmental partners and supporters are dedicated to protecting and healing children, young adults and families in Central Texas by supporting Austin Children’s Shelter through philanthropic gifts. Community Partners

Our Community Partners are companies, organizations or churches who have adopted Austin Children’s Shelter as their charity of choice and provide substantial support in a variety of ways throughout the year.

The Barman’s Fund is a group of bartenders who choose to give back to the community by collectively selecting a non-profit to support each month and donating all of their tips from a designated day to purchase needed items. They have supported programs at Austin Children’s Shelter since 2012, purchasing and donating mp3 players, car seats, bike locks, gift certificates for clothing, tricycles, a playhouse and more.

Blue Lapis Light collaborates with Austin Children’s Shelter and LifeWorks to give youth the opportunity to experience the thrill of aerial dance through their Youth Taking Flight program. Using the Austin Children’s Shelter gym for rehearsal space, Blue Lapis Light holds twice-weekly semester-long classes. Classes culminate in a performance of a multi-media journey in which performers explore their lives in words, music, movement and aerial dance.
CBRE has sponsored birthday cakes for every child and youth celebrating their birthday at Austin Children’s Shelter since 2010. The kids are empowered by picking the flavor of their cake and cake design.

For the young adults in our Transitional Living Program, when it’s time to make the big move into their own apartment, it’s the volunteers at Manchaca Baptist Church who help these young adults make the move. Volunteers collect donations of household items and furniture and move these young adults into their first home to begin a new life. They also organize activities each month for the kids living at Austin Children’s Shelter.

Local realty company Strüb Residential has created a program in which Austin Children’s Shelter can provide a new pair of shoes for every youth in our care. This ongoing program not only supplies Austin Children’s Shelter with a much needed resource, but it also helps build self-esteem and confidence for the youth at Austin Children’s Shelter.

Tony C's knows that kids love pizza! Since 2012, they have donated pizza for the kids at Austin Children’s Shelter on the first Tuesday of every month.
Travis County Sheriff LogoTravis County Sheriffs Office
Sheriff Greg Hamilton and his staff adopted the Austin Children’s Shelter early in 2006. The TCSO holds an annual Halloween Bash at Austin Children’s Shelter for the kids living at Austin Children’s Shelter. It has grown to include our foster families, Strong Start families, SafePlace families, and youth at Helping Hand Home. They also provide support through in-kind donations of Easter baskets, backpacks, gift cards and more.

Whole Foods Market donates an assortment of meats, organic vegetables and dry goods once a month and regularly brings flowers or plants to brighten the cottages at Austin Children’s Shelter.
