Off-Site Volunteer Projects

SAFE Kits & Activity Boxes

You can help the kids, adults, and families we serve at SAFE by providing items to help make their lives a little easier as they heal from violence and create happy memories. Click here to view and sign up for one of our many SAFE Kit and Activity Box options.

Meals for CARES Drop In Center

The SAFE CARES drop in center is a place for survivors of sex trafficking to receive healing, case management and community. One way you can help is by providing a meal for them! During the pandemic, we will be meeting survivors by appointment only. In an effort to minimize the amount of food waste, we are asking for all food donations to be packaged into individual portions. Click here to view and sign up for opportunities.

Attend a Volunteer Information Session

Join members of the SAFE Volunteer Services Team at an upcoming volunteer information session. Info Sessions are the first step in becoming a direct service volunteer. Once a volunteer has attended an information session, they are then eligible to attend our 40-hour Core Advocate Training. Our trainings are offered 6 times per year in both daytime and evening training formats.

To reserve your seat in an upcoming volunteer information session, visit the registration page here.

Flexible and Group Opportunities

SAFE offers a variety of flexible volunteer for both groups and individuals.  For example, you could host an activity for the youth and families we serve, sort donations in our warehouse or pantry, prepare and deliver food for survivors, or help around the holidays.  To view our current flexible volunteer opportunities visit:  https://safeaustin.volunteerhub.com

Professional Volunteer Opportunities

We welcome the involvement of community members offering their professional skills and services to the agency and its clients. Our agency clients often have a wide range of needs, some not possible for SAFE to meet directly. Partnering with the community is an important way to help ensure these needs are met in the fullest possible way. Join us at a volunteer info session for more information.

Direct-Service Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers at SAFE often serve as the first hope for survivors, offering support and a compassionate presence in court or in the role of Peer Support volunteers. We also have opportunities for volunteers to work with children and youth in after-school programs, and other areas across SAFE. There are also opportunities for volunteers in areas that involve limited client interaction, such as staffing booths in the community, assisting at our food pantry or warehouse, translating documents for our clients, providing workshops for Life Skills classes, and much more. Take a look at our direct service volunteer requirements.
