SAFE | understands the importance of providing trauma informed prevention and intervention services specifically designed to serve these most vulnerable members of our community–our children.

Trauma inflicted by any form of abuse affects long-term physical and mental health leading to a greater risk of: incarceration, relying on public assistance, teen pregnancy, homelessness, lower academic achievement, diabetes, heart disease, cancer, asthma, depression, suicide, and further abuse. Children who witness or experience violence in their homes are at a greater risk to suffer developmentally.
