Youth Leadership Academy makes a difference

The 2017 Expect Respect Summer Youth Leadership Academy will provide job sites in Austin and Manor in collaboration with the Austin/Travis County Work-based Learning/Summer Youth Employment Program.

Teens ages 14 to 18 will create multimedia projects to promote healthy relationships and to prevent harassment and abuse. Programming runs from June 5 through July 7 and provides 20 hours of paid employment per week for 30 teens.

Applicants must:

  • Be 14 to 18 years of age (14 by April 1, 2017); youth with disabilities may participate up to age 22
  • Live in Travis County
  • Currently attend school
  • Have a valid social security card & school ID or report card to complete I-9 process
  • Complete Job Readiness Training (JRT)
