SAFEline offers crisis services through text at 737-888-7233, online chat on and through 24-hour telephone services at 512-267-7233. If your safety or privacy may be compromised due to use of our text or chat services, we encourage you to contact our hotline.
You may choose not to engage in our digital services and opt not to provide identifiable information during interactions with advocates on SAFEline. Digital services are defined as text, e-mail and online chat services.
Engaging in our text and chat services constitutes an agreement and understanding of privacy policy. You agree to receive automated and/or sms messages from SAFEline. When accessing text services standard text message and data rates may apply, and message frequency may vary.

Opting Out of SAFEline Text

You may opt out of text services by texting ‘STOP’ to 737-888-7233 at any time. You may get help by texting ‘’SAFE’ or ‘HELP’ to our text line at any time.

SAFEline Chat Services

Our live chat services are provided by LiveChat as a service (SaaS) provider.  IP addresses are required to facilitate a connection. Information may be collected from you on a voluntary basis can include name, gender, age, city, state. Dialogue transcripts of chats are purged regularly. We do not sell, trade or rent personal information that chat users provide.  After any chat  session, you may be asked to fill out an exit survey in order to provide feedback about our service for evaluation purposes. Providing information in an exit survey is completely voluntary. Surveys may ask for contact and/or demographic  information.

SAFEline Mandatory Reporting

SAFEline advocates are considered mandatory reporters by law. When contacting SAFEline you will be made aware that in situations regarding the welfare of minors, adults 65+, and/or adults with a disability any personal identifying information disclosed will be reported to child/adult protective services or law enforcement as required.
We will not disclose personal information of survivors for any reason without your written, informed consent, unless compelled to provide it by court order or law.
We will make reasonable efforts to maintain confidentiality of a survivor’s personal information in accordance under the law.

Donor privacy

SAFE does not trade, sell, or rent any donor’s personally identifiable information with any other entity for marketing or fundraising purposes, unless the donor gives written permission to do so.

We occasionally provide data to Third Party Service Providers for data modeling purposes. You may at any time, chose to opt out of sharing your information by calling us at 512-927-4750 or emailing us at Please allow 30 – 60 days for your information to be suppressed from sharing.

Email address

Our registration forms require users to give us contact information that may include name, email address, interests and similar information. We do not sell, trade, or share your email address or other information with any other organization or person. We do not request or store sensitive information from our visitors, such as credit card or social security numbers.

Internet protocol address

We collect an IP address from all visitors to our site. An IP address is a number that is automatically assigned to your computer when you use the Internet. We use IP addresses to help diagnose problems with our server, administer our site, analyze trends, track users’ movement, gather broad demographic information for aggregate use in order for us to improve the site, and deliver customized, personalized content. IP addresses are not linked to personally identifiable information.

Email addresses you enter

Email addresses that a user enters on Tributes pages are protected. SAFE does not collect these email addresses.

All payments are due upon receipt. If a payment is not received or payment method is declined, the buyer forfeits the ownership of any items purchased. If no payment is received, no items will be shipped.

Shipping policies

Shipping will be paid for by the buyer in the amount agreed upon by the seller at the time of purchase. If an item is lost during shipping, the total cost of item, including shipping, will be refunded to the buyer by the seller. Shipping costs may double if shipping internationally. If an item is damaged during shipping, seller will not be held responsible.

Refund/return policy

Items are entitled to be refunded or returned based on complaint. If an item is damaged during shipping, a replacement item will be sent free of charge. If an item is unsatisfactory, a written explanation is needed before the item may be considered for a refund. Buyer must take into account the description of the item before requesting a refund. If the item matches the description by the seller and the buyer is unsatisfied, seller is not responsible for refund. Exchanges are granted on a case-by-case basis.


An item may be cancelled up until payment has been processed. Once payment has been processed, the buyer is responsible for payment.

Donation refund policy

For donations made using the website, if you have made an error in making your donation or change your mind about contributing to SAFE, we will honor your request for a refund made within 15 days of your donation.

To request a refund, call 512.927.4750. Refunds are returned using the original method of payment. If you made your donation by credit card, your refund will be credited to that same credit card.
