Our work is guided by diverse voices. Whether we’re talking about direct care for survivors, outreach to communities, or the celebrations we have for staff, people from all walks of life shape what we do as an agency.

We’re fortunate to have a dedicated Black/African-American Staff Task Force, which helps ensure Black communities receive the best care and resources we can provide. During Black History Month, the task force hosts two staff potlucks – one on our Grove Boulevard campus and one at the SAFE Children’s Shelter. Take a look at this year’s festivities:

About the SAFE Black/African-American Staff Task Force

The Black/African American Staff Task Force was established for SAFE employees to come together to use their specific talents, skill sets, experiences, relationships, and knowledge of the industry to improve the quality of victim services to the Black/African-American client population at SAFE and to increase SAFE outreach to and interaction with the Black community. The task force informs and leads efforts to improve SAFE’s response to the needs of Black clients and staff by promoting cultural competency, outreach and engagement, and equitable access to leadership roles.
