SAFE provides free, confidential counseling for survivors of domestic violence, sexual violence, child abuse, and human trafficking during their healing process to help move beyond the violence and trauma. The Counseling Program is designed to meet survivors wherever they are in the process of healing, which could be immediately after an incident, months later, or years down the road. Through education on the dynamics of interpersonal violence and the development of goals, survivors are supported as they heal from trauma and reclaim their lives.
Consejería para adultos, niños, adolescentes y familias:
We offer individual, group, and family counseling. Family counseling focuses on relationships and the health of the entire family. Counseling for adults and youth include play and art therapy. Counseling groups offer survivors the opportunity to join together to share experiences, connect, learn about the impact of trauma, develop coping strategies, and heal in a safe, supportive, and strength-based group setting.
Our counseling services are offered in person and over telehealth by licensed mental health professionals and master’s level interns. We offer services in English and Spanish; for individuals who communicate in another language, including American Sign Language, our services are conducted through an interpreter. Our counselors are trained in various trauma-informed therapeutic modalities and collaborate with clients on what is the best fit for their current needs.
The SAFE Counseling team believes in celebrating and amplifying diverse voices. We aim to provide therapeutic care that affirms the racial, cultural, gender, religious/spiritual, and disability identities of people we serve.
