SAFE Holiday Program
With the help of the community, SAFE provides thousands of gifts for the people we support. Along with the community members who purchase the gifts, we need hundreds of volunteers between December 6 – 19 to accept, sort, wrap, and distribute those gifts. Click here to view and sign up for an available shift. All volunteers must be at least 18 years old.
Prepare/purchase and deliver a meal for SAFE CARES
SAFE CARES serves survivors of sexual exploitation and human trafficking. When survivors visit our CARES drop-in center, we like to provide them with a hot meal as part of our wrap around support. We are looking for volunteers who can make a commitment to provide a meal at least once per month for six months – but we are flexible. The meal can be homemade or store/restaurant-bought and needs to include enough hot food to serve 15 people, disposable goods (plates, plastic ware, cups, napkins, and serving utensils), drinks, and take-home containers so people seeking support can take leftovers with them. The meal needs to be delivered at 4 p.m. (some flexibility can be accommodated) to our drop-in center located in South Austin (Friday requires a delivery time of 11:30a). Opportunities are available Monday through Friday.
Host a Thank You Note Writing Session
SAFE raises about $7.5 million annually to support the work we do. One nice way to say thank you to donors is to send them a handwritten thank you note. Once per month, we look for a group to host a session on their own time where they can handwrite about 100 thank you notes. All supplies and verbiage are provided by SAFE.
