The link between trauma and homelessness

Written by SAFE
We see the connection between homelessness and abuse and in our community. At SAFE, we see survivors choose homelessness over living with an abusive partner. It’s an impossible decision that countless people face.
For survivors of abuse, we know there is no path to long-term safety and stability that doesn’t pass through the front door of a safe, affordable, and permanent home. As Austin works to better address homelessness, SAFE is taking an active role in the solution: providing housing and financial assistance for survivors.
